| 0- Important | ||||||||||||
| PostworkShop 3 works only with new PostworkShop 3 serial numbers which look like: PWS3-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. So if you have PostworkShop 2 serial numbers starting by PWSA, PWSF or PWSP, you will not be able to update your software to the latest version and use it in licensed mode as they are not recognized by the software. | ||||||||||||
| 1- What happened to the free Basic Edition? | ||||||||||||
| The Basic Edition is now discontinued. To evaluate PostworkShop3 you can download the Demo version (from the Downloads page) and use it without entering any serial number. Please note that the restriction of the Demo edition is the watermark but you can try out all the features of the software. If you had the Basic Edition you can upgrade to PostworkShop3 by purchasing a new serial. The upgrade price is $120 *full price of new PWS3* | ||||||||||||
| 2- What shall I do if I have the Artist Edition? | ||||||||||||
| If you are the owner of an Artist Edition serial number, you can either continue working with PostworkShop 2 or you may want to upgrade to PostworkShop 3. Please read below to know how to upgrade. | ||||||||||||
| 3- How can I upgrade from PostworkShop 2 (2.0, 2.1 or even 1.1) to PostworkShop 3? | ||||||||||||
| Yes, of course you can upgrade. The upgrade costs can be found in the table below. | ||||||||||||
|
||||||||||||
| To upgrade please send an e-mail to sales@xycod.com with your original Order ID and/or serial number and a note stating that you wish to upgrade. We will check that the old serial number has been fully deactivated (on all your machines) and issue you a one-time coupon that will grant you the correct discount. If the serial number has not been deactivated yet, we will deactivate it. Insert your one-time coupon code in the apposite "Coupon" field on our e-webstore and update the cart. Then secure check-out. | ||||||||||||
| 4- There is an error when I try to activate my serial number. What can I do? | ||||||||||||
The error box typically says that your serial number is valid but cannot be activated. This is generally due to a network problem. Try the following solutions:
If you still have problems with the activation, please contact us at support@xycod.com. |
||||||||||||
| 4a- My PostworkShop Pro Edition serial is not being accepted at the activation. Why? | ||||||||||||
| PostworkShop 3 has its own, new serial number , which looks like: PWS3-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. PostworkShop Pro *or Artist* Edition, looked differently: PWSP (PWSA). These can not be activated on PostworkShop 3. Please get a new serial number to run PostworkShop3 in licensed mode. | ||||||||||||
| 5- How to activate your serial number using the offline activation method? | ||||||||||||
There may be a network problem (e.g. firewall) that prevents PostworkShop from communicating with the license server. Try the Web Activation; for this:
Read the full tutorial about how to activate with the offline activation method. If you still have problems with the activation, please contact us at support@xycod.com. |
||||||||||||
| 6- Can I install PostworkShop on 2 computers at a time while I am the only user? | ||||||||||||
|
Yes, you can install PostworkShop on 2 and even 3 computers at a time. In fact, one serial number gives you 3 licenses that you can use on your PC(s), Mac(s) and notebook, or on your Home computer, Office computer and notebook. If you deactivate the serial number on one of these machines then you can activate it on another machine. See also our commercial conditions here. |
||||||||||||
| 7- Why can't I find the PostworkShop plug-in in Photoshop? | ||||||||||||
| Be sure to install the plug-in file to the correct folder: if you are installing the 64-bit plug-in make sure to select the 64-bit Adobe® Photoshop® (or other host stoftware) plug-in folder and not the 32-bit folder. Unless it will not work, as the plug-in file will not be found by PostworkShop. | ||||||||||||
| 8- How do I activate my new Serial number after an upgrade? | ||||||||||||
| When you upgrade your PostworkShop Edition, you need to activate your new serial number. You can do that through the Activate New Serial Number menu point in the Help menu of PostworkShop. Enter the new serial number and press Ok. Close and reopen PostworkShop so that the new serial is activated. PostworkShop will then run in the new Edition. | ||||||||||||
| 9- How can I print my images created in PostworkShop? | ||||||||||||
| If you are wondering about how to print your creations directly for PostworkShop, it is good to know that PostworkShop does not have any Print menu point. So the method to do that is to save the final image (full render!) and then open it in some other software which allows you to print images. | ||||||||||||
| 10- Can I resale Fotolia images edited with PostworkShop? | ||||||||||||
| Commercial exploitation of Fotolia images wich are licensed and then edited with PostworkShopWe have received questions regarding the commercial exploitation of Fotolia images which are bought and transformed with PostworkShop: can these edited images be resold via Fotolia or other stock-agencies? After consultation with Fotolia, we have sent the following reply to individual users: "Basically, you could resubmit an altered image for resell at Fotolia. However, such a procedure would have at least two potential consequences: 1. the original photographer could claim that his copyright had been infringed, if the postwork was limited (see below) and not influential in the appeal of the image to a purchaser, and/or, 2. Fotolia (or another stock agency) could issue you a cease and desist instruction, based upon the terms and conditions which applied at the time you opened an account for the purchase of licenses for the original stock image(s). In the case of Fotolia, Xycod is not permitted to be specific about how such an instruction would be triggered. The terms and conditions for stock imagery generally allow for a production of derivative work, in which new elements of innovation are involved and demonstrated. So, for example, a montage of several photographs - assembled, say, in PostworkShop - might then become the basis of a genuinely new and creative image. However, the inclusion of post-processing effects alone will not guarantee that such a condition is met. In conclusion we would bring your attention to Xycod's tutorial on the Fotolia access feature, which contains the following statement: "Finally, please note that purchasing and/or using Fotolia images within PostworkShop are subject to all of the standard terms and conditions as you have agreed in order to establish either your original account, or any new account, with Fotolia. No work completed within the PostworkShop application changes the terms of any license." Please note that there is a growing opportunity at Fotolia to sell image licenses where the photographer's own camerawork is postworked and/or digitally painted."
